Those who follow me on twitter may I know I was musing about this scene and how much of Malachy's backstory to get into without fully removing all traces of him being a metaphor for Dylan's bad side. Idk if I'm happy with what I went with but the little mini-Mals make up for it.
I might be totally biased because I love Malachy as a character but I’m def glad you decided to go with this. His story is heart-wrenching and you know I’m always down for angst :’)
God, the b&w looks good on these pages. I love how everything is falling apart too, quality stuff
You gave me too much credit too because I actually wasn't sure what you meant hehehe
Thanks! I don't think dylan's ever asked him a personal question before
With Dylan asking if Mal was at the Hospital, I was under the impression that Dylan had put together that ghosts are bound to what killed them, and if Mal was bound to the hospital and not Dylan/Jerry...
I suppose you have to juggle those points around once in a while. Heh. I mean, I can understand Mal really wanted to care for his younger bro and did everything because of it but at the same time I am not sure about any other backstory so hard to say...
On the other hand, Dylan had it pretty chill and simply hated Jerry so yeah. Also, real smooth there. Dylan stays Dylan, haha.
Malachy is looking more and more like a decent guy who got a raw deal than a malevolent ghost takign revenge, because it's very telling that Dylan asking him how old he was completely disarms him and his bitterness and anger momentarily dissapates. THAT is quality characterization and gives us more insight into his personality than basically anything else up to this point. Thank you, Moth. :)
He can be both! He was once a decent guy, never been particularly friendly but he wasn't a stalk a guy and make him kill his brother type.
Thank you! I wonder if being nice to Malachy could actually win him over...
You can't tell (because of his mighty jaw) but Mal really was young when he died :c He was at the point where he could finally leave the past behind him and start building his own future - I understand why feeling like all that was possibly good in his life was taken from him might hurt.
Stay strong, Mal, we're here for you! <3
I just realized this- if what's going on now is like what happened in the graveyard, corey can see dylan suddenly change demeanor and such, he'll be so confused and possibly worried. This'll be interesting.

I feel like Robin's death just got worse for Malachy now it's clear Malachy kind of acted as his dad.
And thank you! The black and white was so fun aand the next one might be my favourite ;)

Huh… I guess I gave Dylan a little too much credit last page.
Really love panel 4, Mal looks so lost with the change of subject.

Hey, at least Dylan's trying to take an interest in Malachy, asking about his life a bit :')

his mighty jaw indeed
Hahah I don't think Malachy needs encouragement to be strong, he's just gonna get more powerful and angry!

In this case, Dylan is actually asleep at the moment...
