why can jerry touch him this one time? because i wanted them to have a hug that's why
maybe i should have taken a couple of weeks off
there's some other stuff i need to do and i might have just wasted my best cliffhanger
h
legit i just wanted them to hug. i tossed it about a bit and though jerry just kinda standing in front of dylan looked a bit goofy, i dunno
say it's cuz dylan was close to death or jerry mustered up a bit of ghostly power in his fear, i've always been pretty loosy goosy with my ghost rules >_>
"i've always been pretty loosy goosy with my ghost rules >_>"
Does that mean Ghost Jerry can potentially fully materialize and enter the world as normal, the bros rejoin in tears and everything is cleared up as some weird unsolvable case with a happy end??
Oh. Oh okay. That ending was cut at the very beginning. Never mind...
They will probably think nothing of it. Suspicious and weird as he already is to most people...
I find it funny though how we can forget for a moment that Ghost Jerry is a thing and he came back to save his bro, haha.
Maybe Dylan fell and this is like a dream/vision...
Also, if Ghost Jerry can see Suit Jerry then I will scream because the two HAVE to meet face to face :D
Or he sees his true form. Hm.
I don't think you "wasted" a cliffhanger, I think you just changed the tone of it. Even accounting for your "loosy goosy" ghost rules, the possibilities for how the scene plays out are tremendous. You could have a big reveal, a harrowing confrontation, an impressive bit of monologuing, or none of the above. You've already proven you have the writing chops to be unpredictable while remaining consistent within your established framework of the story, so I have confidence it will remain both intriguing and entertaining. ;)
In my opinion, stopping here instead of with the standard trope of "did they/didn't they?" die is a much better choice, but that's mainly because I don't like toying with people's emotional investment in a character when it comes to life or death. More often than not, if the character lives, it's handled poorly and not only lessens the impact of the scene, but also cheapens the overall quality of the plot. Rather like the perpetual TV cliche of "will they/won't they?" romances, you have to know when you've strung the audience along for too long, otherwise they'll lose interest in both the characters and the story because it has lost credibility. Unfortunately, that was the case with the TV series "Castle", which was entertaining (if predictable) for the first few seasons due to good characterizations (mostly the supporting cast) and clever writing. After awhile though, you just get tired of waiting for the romantic tension to be resolved and you end up with a fait accompli and the sizzle fizzles.
Haha you make a good point! Now I'm not gonna take a break I think, but I do only have 2 pages finished during which time to make a decision about the following 4 pages... as it is I'm just working on some later ones and leaving those 4 out >_>
anyway, you have my assurances that I'm not gonna keep teasing dylan's death like this ;D
It never crossed my mind that you would, Moth. ;) You seem to have a good grasp of advancing your plot without rushing it, which is why the story is entertaining and suspenseful despite it's dark nature.
Shit, I needed this today. My seven year old dog died during the night without any warning signs whatsoever and I’ve been in a whole lot of pain since this morning. I was sitting down, admittedly crying a bit and flicking through whatever social media could best distract me when I decided to take a shot in the dark and see if you’d posted here. I’m glad that I did. Thank you for sharing this with us, Moth. This comic gives me a good thing to look forward to, a strong story that hits home and a world that is fleshed out with beautiful art. And this page...Something about this page makes me feel a little bit less broken.
Oh, I'm an idiot. My american ass didn't realize that Constable was a title. I thought it was a different person. Still, she strikes me as the type to get in too deep and then get her neck snapped.
Oh my god… apart from kicking me RIGHT IN THE FEELBONES, this is giving me a flashback to all those moments in Lost when it looks like you're about to get answers, real answers, thank god someone is going to answer these questions, and something inside of you is screaming and you're maybe actually screaming…
And suddenly they use it as a chance to cram two more questions right up your nostrils.
Ahem, so I'm really looking forward to the next page, but I have this weird premonition like I'm about to need to sneeze…

Ahh I am telling you Dylan is nuttier than a three balled squirrel dog
Amarok
wait are we going to ignore that Dylan just... touched a supposed ghost?
MissElaney
The entirely emphatic way that it's framed suggests it's probably not just because moth wanted them to hug idk man
Idk
But I mean honestly even if it's just that, structurally Jerry coming back at this point is cool regardless, I was wondering when he would.

What if someone followed Dylan and sees him hugging the air.
PS: I still think this is a good cliffhanger if you wanna take a break. Cause now I'm wondering what exactly Jerry is seeing...

Stop it, Moth, you evil thing you ;-;
The only things waiting for Dylan and Jerry away from the cliff are marshmallows and kittens, prove me otherwise
