But yeah, I said it on Twitter, and I'll say it again here. I love the subtle smiles you give Dylan, like someone learning how to smile in the first place. They're rare to boot, so the impact is stronger.
Huh. Dylan is at least aware of the roses popping up and the fact that he acts weird. I guess that is good enough to know you have to mind your behavior in front of others.
It is a total guess but I wonder if Jerry suspects anything. I doubt he has any reason to but then he might. He knows he is dead and even if he suspects Rob from his own murder, he kinda looks he gave it more thought and there is something he is not telling.
But I cannot say how much he remembers of what happened. I mean, gosh, how does it feel to actually die and come back as a ghost??
How many people can casually say: "Been there, done that." LMAO :D
We don't have Jerry's perspective really, do we? Hopefully that will change a bit later this chapter. All he can do is make jokes about his death! Assuming you believe his jokes about concussion, he's got squat in the memory department.
This page is giving me feelings, and I'm not quite sure what to make of this just yet. I may be reading too much into it, but I feel like the two panels near the bottom right have some additional meaning or weight.
I know it's sappy of me, but these past two pages have been my favorite out of the whole story so far. Maybe it's just because they're the closest thing to 'happy' we've seen, but Dylan and Jerry just give that vibe of brothers who care about each other, regardless of their differences. And while I don't expect this story to have a 'happy' conclusion, it's nice to have a respite from the dark even if it isn't for long. :)
So, the question of the page: who's watching them and why hasn't Jerry, who apparently noticed the watchers, said anything to Dylan?
I like these pages too! They were another last minute decision as well, the chapter was going to start on the next page but I thought we needed a little breathing room first :D
I'd say jerry says nothing because he's not paranoid :¬)
Obviously I'm biased, but I think it was a very welcome and smart narrative decision, because it adds to their relationship in a "down" moment without slowing down the progression of the story. For what it's worth, I think you have good narrative instincts, Moth. :)
Author Note
Moth
Hey Jerry, I think you could give your brother a crash course on how to smile properly

Thank you! He almost smiled again in 2 pages time but I removed it because I decided he was smiling too much ;)

You know, if I get to choose my hallucinations, I'd pick the good ones too.
Moth
Yep, choose the ones that make everything seem fine!

I can't quite place it, but there's something about this page's colors or shadows that I really like--it just pops so nicely :D
Moth
Oh! Thank you! I guess I'm trying to embrace the colour blue :>
