I like that you included the backstory of Corey being held back, especially with all the little details with homework posted all over his room. It’s that kind of craftsmanship that I think helps your work stand out from other comic creators.

That said, reading between the lines in this page… Corey looks to me like he thought Dylan knew something about something in his room, but was surprised/relieved that it was just about the jacket. I wouldn’t be surprised if in the next page or so, Corey slips up and tries to hide something important, like the drawer’s contents.

(Edit: Just noticed, the first thing he did was shut the drawer...)

I don’t think he’s lying about the homework, but there’s no question it’s a diversion.

Thank you! I like to emphasise how much Corey tries and fails. he works hard but he just isn't that smart :S

And the poor boy is so easily flustered ;) (the drawer was right next to him)

"It’s that kind of craftsmanship that I think helps your work stand out from other comic creators."
Agreed. What is also amazing is that we pretty much moved away from the previous main point of Jerry's murder and now it is more about what the heck in going on in the town in general and how the murders are related to that. Cool thing is that you can suspect most people of something and chances are every one played their role in it in some way. That is awesome.

Are you implying Corey took Rob's knife? Could be. The object in the drawer did look similar. But why would you take the killer's weapon and hide it? Unless he killed Rob with his own knife? Hm.

Corey is certainly hiding something and he is pretty bad at it. "Dunno, just musta had it." is not exactly something you say to your deceased friend's brother when he asks about the jacket.
I am worried about Dylan though. He is pushing it but we will see next time. Basically, if something strange happens right after this encounter then Corey made another move. I would say from his point of view he might think Dylan is being suspicious of him of something serious. Corey is kinda creepy and emotionless here, haha. I guess it depends on how much Corey will feel threatened and whether he panics after this. Probably not. He seems really "okay" with stuff. Huh.

If you're interested in another story with a similar narrative direction to that which you described, I would recommend Famicom Detective Club Part 2 for the SNES. It has a fan translation and is pretty darn amazing.

I'm not necessarily saying Corey took Rob's knife, but that is the most reasonable conclusion to draw. I do however have some mild doubts that it was the murder weapon. It looks like it might be a utility knife, and if so the exposed ends of the razor can't effectively reach most vital organs. I mean, you can mess up someone real good with any kind of knife, but to kill someone with a utility knife would probably take a certain kind of diligence and be especially messy and Rob's corpse didn't have any visible blood stains on it. Granted, we only saw the back half of Rob—easily hiding any evidence of a struggle—but I imagine it was more likely Rob died from drowning when he was disposed of than from blood loss.

Recommendation "downloaded" ;)

Yes. If Corey did anything to Robin then probably not with the knife. Dylan had a short "flashback" if I am not mistaken with the brick but I cannot say Corey hit Robin with a brick either.
Although it is true that if he killed him then probably knocked him out and threw him into the sewer OR Rob fell down and drown. Corey then took the knife for whatever reason (if that really is the knife).

He has the jacket and the knife. Now he needs to dye his hair, put on some convincing make-up and stalk targets at knight as "Jerry", lmao :D

Oh, good spot on the drawer!

And you're quite right, Moth's attention to little details is superb. That and the glorious fluidity of Moth's art and layouts are part of why this comic sticks in my craw—not to mention the unswerving commitment to the Moody Sixth Form Gothic aesthetic.

I choose Dylan, but I like both Dylan and Jerry.

Maybe that's why the funeral girl is taking the lead, people have to split their vote between the boys :')

I enjoy how this comic feels like a murder mystery, despite the main character being the killer.
Less 'whodunnit' and more 'what unrelated weird things happened before I did it'

^^ This exactly

Unrelated, eh?? ;;))

But thank you, I aim for something a little unusual!

Just for this I'm writing a love triangle fanfic with Dylan, Corey and Funeral Girl and it is going to be so damn angsty like emo!Dylan and Funeral Girl is a sparkly vampire and Corey is a shy barista and also mpreg.

LOOK UPON YOUR WORKS AND DESPAIR

(I am only 30% as unhinged as my comments on your comic make me sound, honest…)

You could find a way and vote for BOTH! I mean, I voted twice for Chris... Just because he resembles a friend of mine so damn much, lmao :D

Also, no Beth votes! Wassup with that??
