Could have been a normal expression since that would sound like him but he also could know something is up in the town or in general and wanted to flee before someone kills him... which turned out to be true. Huh.

Thank you! His patch is an area without pigment called piebaldism. He's got it because a long time ago when I gave all my characters wacky designs he had half black, half white hair so I thought I'd retain a little something of that design :')
